Pricing
The free edition is the modeling half of DeltaVault, whole. It does not expire, and it is not a trial with the interesting parts removed.
Most tools make you choose between a demo that does everything for two weeks and a free plan that does almost nothing forever. We split DeltaVault a different way: by where your metadata comes from. If you are modeling the business, the free edition is the product. If you are connecting warehouses and managing physical tables, that is the paid half.
Free
Everything you need to design a business model and keep it under version control. You bring your own Anthropic key, so the AI runs on your account and we are not paying for it, which is what makes the word free honest here rather than a subsidy we have to claw back later.

Four lines separate the two. Three of them are things the paid editions add, and one of those carries most of the weight: the catalog. Connecting a database, importing metadata, profiling columns, mapping sources to your model and tracing lineage through them all need physical tables and columns to work on, and that is the paid half of the product. Projects and workspaces go with it, because a workspace is a selection of catalog tables: on the free edition your models, entities and glossary live at organization level instead. The third line is the AI administration pages, AI Usage, AI Skills and AI Activity, with the model and budget settings beside them. They administer and meter the AI allowance we pay for, which the free edition does not use. The fourth line runs the other way: on the free edition you bring your own Anthropic key, and on the paid editions AI runs on ours. Everything else the free edition is missing, the template engine and generated pipelines, workflows and schedules, the Data Vault and Data Mart accelerators, is a surface we have not switched on for paying customers yet either, so it is not a line drawn against you.
Bring your own key, and what it costs you
On the free edition, AI runs on an Anthropic key you supply. Your provider bills your account at your provider's rates. There is no DeltaVault allowance to run out of, no buffer, and no credit packs to buy, because we are not in the middle of that transaction. You add the key once in Settings and it is encrypted at rest from the moment you save it.
Search and retrieval run on our infrastructure and cost you nothing. That is the part of the bill we carry for every organization, free ones included.
Paid editions
Paid editions add the catalog, projects and workspaces, and the AI administration pages, and they run AI on our key with a monthly allowance instead of yours. They differ from each other by that AI allowance, by seats, and by the support you get, not by which parts of the product you can open.

DeltaVault is invite only while we onboard the first customers, so there is no sign-up button here yet, on any edition. Ask for an invitation and we will tell you when your turn comes around.
