Where settings live

Open settings from Settings in the left sidebar.

For platform administrators, Settings expands to its scopes. The parent Settings link opens Published: your organization’s resolved settings, showing the value that applies and where it came from. Beneath it are the platform-default scopes you set for every organization: Global, Databricks, Snowflake, and Fabric (Microsoft Fabric). Each scope has its own address, so you can bookmark or link straight to one, for example /admin/settings/databricks.

For organization administrators, Settings is a single link that opens your organization’s settings directly. There are no scopes to choose: you configure only your own organization.

Inside any scope, the sections run down a rail on the left of the page (Target Platform, Shared, Preferences, Staging, Data Vault, Conventions, and so on). Choose a section on the left and edit it on the right. The breadcrumb reads Settings › Scope › Section (for Published, simply Settings › Section), so your place is always clear.

The Shared section holds settings that apply across every project, including how DeltaVault builds business keys: the separator and column-pattern for concatenated business keys, and hash input normalization. See Concatenated business keys for how those settings shape the generated key.

The Conventions section ends with Reporting, where you record how your organization reports: its Time zone, its Fiscal year start month, and its Default currency. Each field saves on its own. Everyone in your organization can see these values, and only an organization administrator can change them.
